The East High School Mountain Bike Team (EastMTB) competes in the Colorado High School Cycling League. Each race is a National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) sanctioned event.
EastMTB was founded in 2010 by Coach Steve Bussey.
EastMTB was one of 80+ teams to compete in 2018. Over 1,200 riders raced each weekend in 2 conferences: North and South. EastMTB competes in the North Conference.
EastMTB has almost doubled in size between the 2017 and 2018 season and has 38 Riders this year!
Practices are typically held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday of each week leading up to and during the season. Monday and Saturday are usually Dirt practices and spent on local trails in the front range. Wednesdays are interval type practices held in City Park. Saturday practices will be used to Pre-Ride the race course once the race season begins.
EastMTB competes in 5 races each season. The 2019 Race Season will take place at the following dates and locations:
- August 25 – Frisco
- September 8 – Leadville
- September 22 – Granby
- October 6 – Eagle (Series Championship)
- October 19-20 – Durango (State Championship)
